The Clinton Herald Thursday May 20, 1965 p. 7 Graham L. McQueeney, 61, of 615 Fourth St. DeWitt, Iowa, a former Elgin resident, died unexpectedly Wednesday at his home. Death was believed to have been caused by a coronary attack. Born in Elgin July 4, 1903, a son of Bernard and Elizabeth McQueeney, he was graduated from Elgin High School in 1921, starring in football and participating in other sports. McQueeney won acclaim as an ice skater, capturing the city chamionship three consecutive years and other honors in state and interstate competition. He later coached other Elgin skaters who won similar laurels. He was employed for several years as a clerk-radio operator in Elgin state police headquarters. Leaving Elgin in 1943, he made his home in Chicago until May 1 of this year when he was transferred to DeWitt. Mr. McQueeney was an account executive of the Chicago Car Advertising Co. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society of St. Ita parish in Chicago. In addition to the widow, the former Clare Kearney, he is survived by three sisters, Mrs. James (Maire) McEnerney, Mrs. Dorothy Willert and Miss Elizabeth McQueeney, all of Elgin. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Clarence, Leo, and Joseph McQueeney. Funeral services will be at 10:30 Saturday from the O'Connor Funeral Home and at 11 a.m. in St. Lawrence Church. The Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home, where friends may call after 2 Friday. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
