Mary Lou Cozzolino, 96, of Clinton, passed away, Thursday, August 21, 2014 at the Eagle Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral Services will be 10:30am, Monday, August 25, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church – Clinton. Private family burial will be held prior to the service. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00-6:00pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory where a 6:00pm Eastern Star service will conclude the visitation. Mary Lou Ronk was born on September 8, 1917 in Sidney, Indiana, the daughter of Albert and Goldie (Fouts) Ronk. She married Joseph E. Bohr in 1941 in North Manchester, Indiana; he died in 1978. She later married Leo Cozzolino in 1984 in Clinton.

She graduated with a B.A Degree in Music from Manchester College in North Manchester, Indiana and also had graduate work in music and library science. Much of her life was spent in music, beginning when she was a small child. She was the organist for the college activities, and also served as organist for the church.

Mary Lou was a school teacher for thirty years, teaching English and Music in Indiana and Iowa. In 1964 she became the high school librarian for the new Northeast Community School District. She served as organist for many churches and organizations during her lifetime, and was a professional accompanist. She also taught music lessons.

She resided in Clinton, Iowa, since 1980. She and her husband Leo, also live in their home in Florida in the winter for 21 years until 2005. In 2005 they sold their home in Florida and moved back to their Iowa home on a permanent basis.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Clinton, Iowa, and a past member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Lehigh, Florida. In Iowa she was a past president of the United Methodist Women, and a member of the Chancel Choir and Bell Choir. She was a member of the Clinton Chapter #65 of the Order of the Eastern Star, where she served as organist for many years and was Worthy Matron in 1986. In 1992, she was appointed to the position of Grand Organist of the Grand Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star of Iowa. She was also a member of the Amaranth in Florida and served as organist for it as well as organist for the Lehigh, Florida Order of the Eastern Star #291 for many years. She was a member of the Clinton Daughters of the Nile.

Mary Lou is survived by her husband Leo of Clinton; a son: Joseph H. (Linda) Bohr of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and a daughter: Sandra Louise (Dan) Herr of Wilton, Iowa, five grandchildren: Melanie (Robert) McDaniel, Mark (Trish) Bohr, Lynne (John) Carroll, Becky (Randy) Woodring, and Carrie (Chad) Wunderlich, and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, and her first husband, Joseph E. Bohr.

Memorials can be made to the First United Methodist Church of the Clinton Chapter #65 of the Order of the Eastern Star.
