Laurel D. “Laurie” Cook age 58 of Clinton, passed away peacefully on Aug. 12, 2014 at the Alverno Health Care Facility. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Cremation rites will be accorded. Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday at the Pape Funeral Home. A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday 10:00 AM until the service hour at the funeral home. A funeral luncheon will be held at St. Boniface Hall, Clinton. Memorials may be given to the Clinton Arboretum or to family wishes. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com
Laurie was born on March 22, 1956 in Clinton, the daughter of Henry and Marilyn (Foy) Winter. She graduated from Clinton High School. She married Mike Cook on June 3, 1978 in Clinton. Laurel was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and cooking. She will be remembered for her friendly nature and big heart.
Laurie is survived by her husband, Mike of Clinton; two daughters, Jennifer (Shawn) Lovdahl of Anchorage, AK and Christine (Kyle) Haynes of Princeville, IL; a grand-daughter, Cora Rose Lovdahl; a brother, Warren (Ann) Winter of Sterling, IL; two sisters, Julie Clark of Bartow, FL and Sally Jo Winter of Clinton; and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Wendy.
