Robert J “Rowdy” Weeks, 62, of Davenport, Iowa, died Saturday evening, July 5, 2014, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Davenport.

Robert was born July 21, 1951, to Vernon and Annabelle (Jackson) Weeks, in Washington, Iowa. After graduating from high school in 1969, in DeWitt, Iowa, he moved to Davenport where he worked for Case IH until retirement in 2004. He also worked for the City of Davenport, and the Davenport Public Library. In 2001 he married Ann Ganoe in Davenport.

Rowdy adored his family and friends. He was an avid reader, spending much of his time at the library. Rowdy loved baking Christmas cookies; they will be missed by many. He also enjoyed fishing, golfing, playing cards, hunting, and making everyone laugh.

In addition to his wife, Ann, he is survived by his son, Derrick Weeks and his wife Jessica of Arvada, Colorado; step-daughter, Kaitlyn Halfacre of Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; grandchildren, Noah and Scarlett; sister, Maria “MeMe” John and her husband Guy of DeWitt; sister-in-law, Lana Weeks of Davenport; niece and nephews, Amanda Earwood of Riverdale, Iowa, Tom Vanderbilt of Whitehouse, Tennessee, Justin “Gus” Vanderbilt, and Brandon John both of DeWitt; and his faithful dog, Jimmy.

Rowdy, was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Danny.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, Iowa. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 10, 2014, in the funeral home, with Pastor Paul Lang officiating.
