Lynda Lou Carol Soenksen, 71, of DeWitt, Iowa, died Saturday, August 23, 2014, at Norman Regional Hospital in Norman, Oklahoma.

Lynda Lou Carol Soenksen was born October 25, 1942, in La Motte, Iowa, to Ralph and Lula (Wiegert) Wohlers. After attending high school in Andrew, Iowa, she married Cletus Kilburg. To their union were born two daughters and a son. She was later united in marriage to Milo Soenksen at Grace Lutheran Church in DeWitt. Lynda worked in manufacturing at Collis Corporation in Clinton until becoming a homemaker. She later worked various jobs until retiring from Wal-Mart in 2007, to take care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In later years, Lynda made her home between Oklahoma and Iowa.

Lynda was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt. She loved being around family and friends, dancing and the music of Conway Twitty, and going to horse races with family. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening, puzzles, playing cards and dominoes. Her cooking and baking will be missed by many.

Survivors include her children, Karen (Brent) Clay of Purcell, Oklahoma, Kathy (Scott) Prier of DeWitt, Kevin (Brandy Clay) Kilburg of Purcell, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Brooke (Joshua) Van Oort, Bridget (Stormy) Smith, Shelby-Jo and Kassandra Prier, Colby and Ravin Kilburg, and Breeann Clay; great-grandchildren, Dru, Ty, Grace, Rayna, Madelyn, and two on the way; brothers, Don (Karen) Wohlers, Wayne (Betty) Wohlers, Dale (Rita) Wohlers; a sister Judi (Mike) Devine; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lynda was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother, Ralph; and sister-in-law, Janet Wohlers.

Visitation will be from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, with a Rosary at 3:30 and Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 28, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt.
