George Stankee 1898-1976

Funeral services for George Stankee, 77, Wheatland, were held at the Presbyterian church, Wheatland, March 1 with the Rev. Marvin Runte officiating. Burial was in the Pine Hill cemetery. Pallbearers were Glen, Paul G. and Robert Stankee, Jack Lichtenstein, Don Christensen and F. D. Cargill. Wilma Riedesel was organist.

Mr. Stankee died at the DeWitt hospital Feb. 27, where he had been a patient for 4 weeks.

The son of Paul and Mathilda Krukow, he was born in Clinton July 25, 1898 and was married to Emma Peters at Davenport Feb. 4, 1925.

He was a salesman for the P. W. Stankee Company.

Mr. Stankee is survived by 2 daughters, Mrs. Harold (Bonnie) Hensch, Tipton and Mrs. Frank (Helen) Whitman, DeWitt, 2 sons, Donald, Wheatland and Clifford, Coggon; 4 grandchildren, a great-grandchild and a sister, Mrs. Alfred Kallenbach, Clinton.

He was preceded in death by his wife, a daughter, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
