Henry Bush was born in Fehmarn, Germany February 20, 1840 , emigrated to US in 1856. He lived in NJ for 2 years and made his way to Deep Creek Townhips, Clinton Co Iowa and Preston. He was a farmhand and later a farmer. He was member of the Methodist Episcopal Church in Preston Iowa. He died of Kidney failure. His obituary stated that he was an honest, conscientious German, a member of the ME Church and a citizen of the kind that is a credit to any community and his loss will be felt by the people of Preston. His remains were laid to rest in the Vernon Prairie Cemetery West Prairie cemetery located in section 2 of Deep Creek township. Henry had the following children:

Ernan Amos Bush b 2 17 1882. He was married to Elizabeth (Williamson).
