Fran Hallinan, 67, of Clinton, passed away, Friday, May 16, 2014 at her home surrounded by family and friends.
A Mass will be celebrated at 5:30pm, Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 2:00pm to the mass time Wednesday at the church. Following the mass her body will be cremated and a private burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery on Thursday. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting her obituary at www.snellzornig.com.
Frances Hallinan was born on September 25, 1946 in Davenport, Iowa the daughter of Richard and Helen (Houghton) Hallinan. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1964.
Fran was employed with the business office at Mercy Medical Center – Clinton from 1963 until her retirement in 2004.
Fran was a member of Prince of Peace Parish, past-president of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church council, served as secretary/treasurer of the St. Mary’s Cemetery board, and past president of the St. Mary’s/Prince of Peace Alumni Association. She was a member of the Izzak Walton League, Eagles Club, state officer of the AMVETS Auxiliary, and drove the courtesy car for Mercy Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling and served on the International Bowling Congress. She also volunteered for Clinton Riverboat Days and Meals on Wheels.
Fran is survived by her sister: Mary Ann Hallinan of Clinton; a sister-in-law: Ruby Hallinan of Keokuk, her adopted little sister: Debbie Samuelson of Lakewood, California, her Goddaughter Erin Delliquadri of Lakewood, California, and her additional adopted family next door, and numerous special friends.
Fran was preceded in death by her parents and her brother: Leo.
Memorials can be made to Prince of Peace Schools in memory of Fran.
