Mrs. Myrtle Koslofsky, 95, of Calamus, Iowa, died Sunday afternoon, June 22, 2014, at Wheatland Manor in Wheatland, Iowa.

Mrs. Koslofsky, the former Myrtle Utke was born August 28, 1918, Enderlin, North Dakota. On November 10, 1940, she was united in marriage to Lawrence Koslofsky in Enderlin. The couple moved to Iowa in the early 50's and resided at Calamus. Myrtle cared for many neighboring children and was known as Grandma K to all. Her husband preceded her in death on June 1, 1995.

She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Calamus. Myrtle and Lawrence participated in several community activities over the years including working as Santa's helpers as Mr. and Mrs. Claus. She was a longtime organist at Faith Lutheran Church and Schultz Funeral Home, Grand Mound. She loved music, and continued playing piano for the residents at Wheatland Manor.

Surviving are daughters, Rita (Bus) Seastrand of Calamus and Ronda Koslofsky of Maquoketa, Iowa; a brother, Bill Utke of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; grandchildren, Scott (Teresa) Grau, Steve (Melinda) Grau, Lance Seastrand and Stacy Grau; great-grandchildren, Jacob Grau, Derek Hartmann, Abigail, Jeffrey and Kathryn Grau, Jessica and Austin Seastrand.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Grau and nine brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends at Schultz Funeral Home, Grand Mound, from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2014. A Service of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the Funeral Home. The Rev. Stacy Grau will officiate with burial at Rose Hill Cemetery, Calamus.

Pallbearers will be Scott Grau, Steve Grau, Lance Seastrand, Jacob Grau, Derek Hartmann, Jeffrey Grau and Austin Seastrand. Honorary pallbearers will be Abigail Grau, Jessica Seastrand, Payton Preston and Kathryn Grau.
