Virginia "Jane" Nash, 71, of Camanche, formerly head librarian at Grinnell High School, died Saturday, Nov. 4, in Camanche.
A memorial service was conducted Tuesday at Camanche Chapel, Snell-Zornig Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dolores Santos-Sheets officiating.
The daughter of Fred and Margaret Simon Kennedy, she was born Feb. 10, 1924, in Cushing, Neb. She was married to Ohn Thummel on Dec. 24, 1941, in Bedford. He died June 1, 1961. On Dec. 19, 1970, she was married to R. Jay Nash in Grinnell.
She was a 1941 graduate of Bedford High School and a 1968 graduate of Northwest Missouri State University with a B.A. in library science.
She was employed by Keokuk High School for two years, Marshalltown High School for one year and Grinnell High School for 11 years, retiring in 1982.
Mrs. Nash was a former member of the United Church of Christ-Congregational in Grinnell and a former member of the Bedford Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband; one daughter, Margie Stillwagon of Royal Palm Beach, Fla.; one son, Steve Thummel of Lawson, Mo.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Kathlyn Hossman of Villisca.
