SERVICES HELD FOR
LORRAINE BREWSTER

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today (Monday, June 24) at Denison Chapel in the Mayflower Home for Miss Lorraine M. Brewster, 81, of Grinnell who died early Friday morning (June 21) at the Mayflower Home Health Center.

The Rev. Daniel I. Ogata, pastor of the Grinnell First United Presbyterian Church, the Rev. Ralph Beebe and Harris Stafford of the Mayflower Home officiated at the services.

Music was furnished by Mrs. Kilborn Holt, pianist.

Casketbearers were Dr. M.E. Barrent, Llewlyn Fay, George Kruse, Leonard Peets, Ewart Potter and Robert Walliker, all of Clinton.

The Smith Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Graveside services were held at 3:00 this afternoon at the family lot in Springdale Cemetery in Clinton.

Miss Lorraine M. Brewster was born July 1, 1892 in Clinton, the youngest daughter of John Taggart and Mary Ann Robrecht Brewster. She attended the Clinton public schools and was graduated from the Clinton Scoville Business College. She had been secretary for the Curtis Brothers Co. and later for Dr. W.M. Walliker.

On May 1, 1959, Miss Brewster and her sister, Mrs. C.J. (Emily) Denick moved to the Mayflower Retirement Home in Grinnell. Her sister died April 9, 1965.

Miss Brewster had been an active member in the First Presbyterian Church in Clinton and had taught Sunday School there for 30 years. Moving to Grinnell she united with the United Church of Christ-Congregational and was a member of the Bible Class. She also was a member of Poweshiek DAR chapter and the Historical Society.

Miss Brewster was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, and a brother, Albert.
