Bernie Ebensberger age 84 of Clinton passed away Sunday, April 6, 2014 at the University of Iowa Hospitals surrounded by her family. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday, April 10, 2014 at the Pape Funeral Home with Bernie’s favorite place to visit, Hawaii as the theme. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday at the funeral home. Following the service a luncheon will be served at the AMVETS.

Bernie was born in Savanna,IL on June 8, 1929, the daughter of Clyde and Gertrude (Philamlee) Law. She graduated from Lyons High School in 1948. Bernie married Marvin E. Ebensberger on June 17, 1949 in Clinton. Marvin passed away on October 6, 1995. She was employed at Von Maur’s, Guzzardo’s and at Lyons Shoes. She had lived in Glendale, AZ for 12 years before returning to Clinton in 2006. Bernie was a member of the Community Congregational Church, Loyal Order of Moose and the former Odeon Club, where she enjoyed dressing up for their masquerade parties. She enjoyed playing bingo, bowling, dancing, shopping, attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, and traveling, especially to Hawaii.

Bernie is survived by two daughters, Sherry L. (Kathy) Ebensberger of Grand Junction, CO and Debbie (Joe) Farrell of Clinton; five sons, Kevin M. (Priscilla) Ebensberger of Peoria, AZ, Danny J. (Deb) Ebensberger, Scott E. (Caroline) Ebensberger, Rob E. (Sheila) Ebensberger, and Jeff A. (Dawn) Ebensberger all of Clinton; 16 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren her sister, Shirle (Charlie) Fritsche of Woodlands, TX; her companion dog Magic; a sister in law, Elaine Ebensberger; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Dorothy Kellermann. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, an infant brother, Bobby, and a son in law; Dale Feaster.
