Lois I. (Mrs. Harold) Ruggeberg, 95, of DeWitt, Iowa, died Tuesday evening, April 15, 2014, at Eagle Point Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Clinton, Iowa.

Mrs. Ruggeberg, the former Lois Irene Allison was born February 22, 1919, in Nashville, Iowa, to George and Mary (Lyans) Allison. She graduated from Delmar High School in 1936. Lois married Harold Edward Ruggeberg on September 10, 1936, at the Allison family home at rural Delmar. She was a homemaker and farmer's wife, raising their four children. Harold preceded Lois in death on January 30, 2008. She moved to Maggie's House Assisted Living in 2009.

Lois was a longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church of DeWitt and the Farm Bureau Homemaker's Club. She and Harold were ballroom dancers for 70 years.

Surviving are children and their spouses, Carol Jean and William Smith and Judith Ione and John DeTellem of DeWitt; Patricia Ann and Dean Traver of Mount Vernon, Iowa, and Alan Harold and Monica Ruggeberg of DeWitt; grandchildren, Terry (Linda), Glenn and Tim Aldinger, Rebecca Buhler and Nancy Wulf, Jeffrey, Julie, Brian (Christine) and Greg (Kari) Traver, Tavia (Edgar) Vital and Troy Ruggeberg; fourteen great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Kenneth and Everett Ruggeberg; sisters-in-law, Margaret Pestka and Louise Collins; numerous nephews and nieces.

Preceding Lois in death in addition to her husband were her parents; a sister, Ione Korgaonkar; brothers, Raymond and Howard Allison.

The family will greet relatives and friends at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, from 3:00 until 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 18. A Service of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 19, at Grace Lutheran Church, DeWitt, with the Rev. Ron Rafferty officiating. Burial will follow at Oak View Cemetery, Welton. Memorials are suggested to Grace Lutheran Camp for youth programs.

Pallbearers will be Bill Smith, John DeTellem, Dean Traver, Bob Farber, Dave Farber and Chris Bowman.
