The Clinton Herald Friday October 9, 1959 p. 16 Bernard Bohnson, 84, of 1910 Pershing Blvd., died this morning at Mercy hospital where he had been a patient since August. Funeral will be held Monday an hour to be announced later, at the Snell-Smith funeral home. Rev. Martin S. Bredow, pastor of Zion Lutheran church, will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery. He was born in Germany on Aug. 19, 1875, to Bandich and Catherine Bohnson, coming to Clinton as a youth. He was associated with the Clinton Street Railway Co., for over 50 years, retiring after being manager and secretary. A member of Zion Lutheran church, he was also a member of the Lyons 93 A.F.&A.M., DeMolay Consistory, and Lyons I.O.O.F. lodge. He was married to Mary Jensen in Clinton on Oct. 12, 1910, who survives. He is also survived by 1 son, Lorin of Chicago; 1 daughter, Mrs. Lyle Jefferies of Clinton, and 6 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and 4 brothers.
