The Clinton Herald Monday March 21, 1960 p 11 Lester John Olson, 54, of 708 1/2 S. 4th St., a conductor for the Chicago and North Western railroad, died at 6:30 a.m. today at the V.A. Domiciliary. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Snell-Smith funeral home, with Rev. Richard Hogan of the Clinton Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday. Lester Olson was born Feb. 4, 1906, in Clinton to Adolph and Carrie Olson. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith. He married Irene Lundgren Oct. 3, 1949, in Boone. He was a member of the VFW, B of R.C., and a World War II veteran. Surviving are his wife; his mother; one step-son, Jack Lundgren of Geneseo, Ill.; two step-daughters, Mrs. Donald (Pat) Bennett and Mrs. Eugene (Beverly) McCashey, both of Boone; four brothers, Ray, Lyle, Russell and Marvin, all of Clinton; one sister, Mrs. Frank Keiser of Clinton; six step-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father.
