Betty C. Miller, 90. of Clinton, passed away, Thursday, March 27, 2014 at the Alverno.

Per her request there will be no services or visitation; the body has been cremated. A Private Memorial service will be held by the family at a later date on Glen & Betty's farm pond property, Plano, Iowa, where their ashes will be scattered. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting her obituary at www.snellzornig.com

Betty Colleen Browne was born on May 10, 1923 in Centerville, Iowa, the daughter of Virgil and Josephine (Skinnder) Browne. She married Glen Miller on October 26, 1940 in Lancaster, Missouri; he died September 26, 2007.

Betty was educated and graduated from the Centerville schools.

Betty was the executive secretary at General Electric in Morrison for many years. She also assisted her husband with their independent milk hauling business. She was a franchisee of Vivian Woodard Cosmetics. She was also a secretary for the Town Talk, Clinton Wire Cloth Company, Clinton County Courthouse, and Clinton Corn Processing.

Betty served as the choir director and vocalist at Zion Lutheran Church - Princeton. She taught piano, organ, and voice for several years as well as performed in the Messiah in Clinton. She was also a member of the Jehovah Witnesses. She was a loving mother, homemaker, and devoted wife.

Betty is survived by children: Beverly (Mrs. Donald Price) Miller of Clinton, Janice (Edwin) Wright of Grand Marais, Minnesota, Ellen (David) Schoo of Clinton, Tamara King of DeWitt 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, a sister, and a grandson: Cory Rutledge.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Genesis Hospice or the American Cancer Society. The family extends their gratitude to the medical professionals and the caring staff of the Alverno for their care of Betty over the past months.
