MCGOVERN, KEOUGH, WEINBECK

The Clinton Herald; Friday May 26, 1967 p. 15 John T. McGovern, 78, 1709 S. 5th St., died Thursday afternoon in Mercy hospital after a brief illness. Requiem mass for Mr. McGovern will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Mary's church. Burial will be in Springdale cemetery. The body is in the Snyder-Schmitz funeral home where visitation is in progress. St. Mary's parish members will recite the rosary at 7:30 o'clock tonight in the funeral home. Mr. McGovern was born Jan. 23, 1889, in Hartwick, the son of John and Mrs. Keough McGovern. He was married April 18, 1914, in Savanna, Ill., to Miss Anna Weinbeck. Mr. McGovern retired in 1952 after serving 40 years as a Chicago and North Western railroad switchman. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen and the Loyal Order of Moose. Survivors include his wife, a son, Jack McGovern of Clinton, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceeded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
