DECOCK, SCALLAN, KEARNEY, HURLEY

The Clinton Herald, Monday March 22, 1948, p.7. DeWitt Mrs. D.A. DeCook died about 3:15 p.m. Sunday in her home at 602 Sixth avenue after a short illness. The body is at the Hanrahan funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph's Catholic church with burial in St. Joseph's cemetery. Ella Scallan, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Scallan, was born April 21, 1888, in DeWitt, and was a life long resident. She was married to D.A. DeCook Feb. 14, 1911, in St. Joseph's church here. Surviving are her husband, three daughters, Mrs. Francis J. Kearney, DeWitt, Mrs. Edwin J. Hurley, Des Moines, and Sister Mary Donatus, also of Des Moines, one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth McCarl, DeWitt, and one brother, Dr. J.W. Scallan. Mrs. DeCock was a member of the Altar and Rosary society
