Jane Elizabeth Thilmany, 88, of Camanche, IA, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2014 at her home in Camanche. Graveside services will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery at a later date. Cremation will take place at Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory.

Jane was born September 3, 1925 in Winona, Minnesota, the daughter of Edward L. and Magdalena (Sobeck) Voelker. She graduated from Cathedral High School in Winona, MN in 1943. Jane married Joseph Thilmany August 12, 1947 in Winona, Minnesota; he died January 22, 1996.

Jane was employed at Nielsen’s Clearing House for 18 years. She was a member of the Church of the Visitation, Camanche, the Camanche Meal Site, the Camanche Red Hats, and she was a member of the Camanche Friends of the Public Library Organization. She enjoyed golfing and walking her dog.

Jane is survived by two daughters; Beth (Tim) Blumer of Camanche and Charlotte (Allen) Ferrell of Tennessee; two grandchildren; Carrie (Jimmy) Hunt of Tennessee, and Danny Byam of Pennsylvania; one great-grandchild Mikaela Byam of Maryland and her special friend of seventeen years, Travis Kisner of Camanche.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her, parents, one brother and four sisters.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Friends of the Library or Genesis Hospice.
