Doris A Ronnfeldt, 78, of Goose Lake went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Westwing Nursing Home. According to Doris’s wishes, cremation services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Ascension Lutheran Church in Goose Lake, Iowa. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral starting at 10:00 am. Pape Funeral Home in Clinton is assisting the family. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com

Doris was born in Rock Creek Township, Carroll County Il on June 15, 1935 the daughter of Clarence and Clara(Johnson) Irion. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith. Doris attended school in Lanark, graduating in 1950. Doris married James Clarence Ronnfeldt on May 16, 1959 at the Faith Lutheran Church, Andover, IA. Previous to marrying Jim, Doris worked for Burpee Seed and Clinton Garment Factory. Doris spent her married life caring for her family and running the household. She loved to volunteer for events at the Church or in the community.

Doris was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church, she could be found there helping with Bible School, setting up and serving the Goose Lake Lions Breakfast, quilting or participating in Bible Study. Doris was also an active member of the Goose Lake Iowa Community Betterment Group. In October, 2004, she was the co-organizer of the Goose Lake Senior Citizens. Doris was known for her love of a good “500” card game and always had a deck of cards in her purse. She belonged to a card club that has met for many years in Goose Lake.

Doris is survived by her two daughters, Gail (Tom) Witt of Goose Lake and Teresa (Jerry)Jensen of Charles City, Ia and one son Keith Ronnfeldt, Goose Lake; five grandchildren; Denise Witt, Bryan Witt, Alec Jensen, Ashley Jensen and Aaron Jensen. One great grandson Dereck Riordan. Three sisters Betty Todd, Sterling, Il, Arlene Irion and Mary Irion both of Clinton, IA; one brother Ray (Pat) Irion of Shannon, Il and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James who died on August 28, 2012, two sons Glen and Daryl Ronnfeldt, four sisters, Arvilla Girton, Dorothy Itken, Gladys Keeney and Jean Irion, two brothers Robert and Clarence (Pete) Irion.
