Ruth Edna Huebbe, 91, of DeWitt, Iowa, died Wednesday morning, February 5, 2014, at Westwing Place, DeWitt.

Ruth was born July 9, 1922, in Clinton, Iowa, to Peter and Nicolene (Jensen) Gradert. Following graduation from high school, Ruth was united in marriage to Duane Huebbe on April 9, 1940, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Grand Mound, Iowa. Ruth was a homemaker and farmed with her husband. Duane preceded her in death on December 6, 1989.

Ruth was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, DeWitt.

She is survived by her children Janalea Huebbe and her husband Terry Townsend-Huebbe of Dexter, Minnesota, and Galeon Huebbe and his wife Karen Anderson of Newhall, Iowa; grandson, Nathan Huebbe of Maquoketa, Iowa; half-sister, Luanne (Lee) Barber of DeWitt; a sister-in-law, Esther Dosland of Lost Nation, Iowa; nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Ruth was preceded in death by a daughter, Camilla, and a step-sister, Dorothy Rathje.

Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 7, 2014, at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. A Service of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 8, 2014, at Grace Lutheran Church, DeWitt, Iowa. The Reverend Ronald Rafferty will officiate. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Calamus, Iowa.
