Althea K. (Mrs. Leo) Capper, 97, of DeWitt, died Wednesday evening, February 26, 2014 at the Wellstead of Rogers Nursing Home in Rogers, Minnesota.

Mrs. Capper, the former Althea Katherine Teach, was born March 22, 1916, in Morrison, Illinois, to Roy and Margaret (Gieger) Teach. She was a homemaker much of her life. Althea was united in marriage to Leo C. Capper and together the couple owned and operated Capper's Creamery for many years. Leo preceded Althea in death in 1981.

Surviving are twin children, Bonnie Capper-Eckstein and her husband, Robert of Maple Grove, Minnesota, and Tom Capper of Aurora, Illinois.

In addition to her husband, Leo, Althea was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Lloyd; sisters, Anna Bradley and Pauline Rhine and an infant brother, Clifford.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 1, at Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt. The Rev. Jeff Wartgow will officiate and burial will follow.
