The Clinton Herald Thursday September 7, 1933 Martin E. Mitchell, better known to his Clinton friends as Martie, died at 4:30 o'clock this morning in the home of his sister, Mrs. Nellie Nolte, Watkins. His brother, Thomas, died less than two days ago in a Cincinnati hospital and his funeral sercices will be held in that city tomorrow. He left a widow, two sons and one daughter. Funeral services for Martin will be held here at 10:30 o'clock Saturday morning in St. Mary's church and burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery. Martin was born and grew to manhood in Clinton. Twenty years ago he went west, finally locating in Seattle. When his health failed he wished to return to die among his own people. He leaves his aged mother who lives with her daughter, two brothers, William of Milwaukee, Wis., and Peter, of Montana, and one sister, Mrs. Nellie Nolte, of Watkins.
The Clinton Herald Friday September 8, 1933 The body will be brought to Clinton from Watkins tomorrow thru Cedar Rapids. It will be taken directly to St. Mary's for the service. It is expected to arrive at 10:30 o'clock.
