Steven L. Schuey, 65, of Clinton, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Eagle Point Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by his family after.

Services will be 7:00pm, Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Visitation will be from 4:00pm to the service time Tuesday at the funeral home. Steven Lloyd Schuey was born on September 23, 1948 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Ronald and Iva (Nolan) Schuey. He was a 1967 graduate of Clinton High School and Clinton Community College in 1969. Steve was united in marriage to Roberta (Robbie) Smith in 1990. He was previously married to SueEllen (Savory) Olsen.

Steve joined Ironworkers Local 111 in 1976 and held offices of President of the Executive Board, Trustee and delegate to the Clinton Labor Congress. He also served on the Civil Service Commission in Clinton County since 1984.

Steve enjoyed many years of playing softball and partying with his friends. He enjoyed volunteering with Clinton Habitat for Humanity. He enjoyed traveling especially the yearly trips to Cancun, Mexico and Branson, Missouri, theatre at Circa 21, the Alder Theatre and Clinton Showboat. Living in the country watching and feeding the birds, hearing his beagle dog Gordie howling through the timber chasing nothing but a scent were a great joy to him. Robbie and Steve were avid Iowa Hawkeye fans and were season ticket holders for football attending most games. But one of his biggest joys was spending time with his grandsons: Mike and Ben. Many hours were spent playing Skip Bo, Sorry, and racing each other on the DS.

Steve is survived by his wife: Robbie of Clinton; his step-daughter: Cindy Hintermeister of Clinton; two grandsons: Mike and Ben; sister-in-law: Doris (Morland) Clark of Fulton; and several nieces and nephews.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, his brother: Ronald and his sister: Dixie.
