Louis K. Ronnfeldt, 73, of Camanche passed away Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at his home. In following his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A gathering of family and friends will be 3-6 p.m. Wednesday at the Pape Funeral Home. A memorial service will begin at 6:30 p.m. Honorary pallbearers will be Renny Platt, Billy Rogis, Gilbert Diercks, Gary Schroeder, Wayne Johnston and Jim Schnier. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Clinton County Special Athletes or Northeast Athletic Booster Club.

Louis was born at a farm near Hauntown on Sept. 11, 1940, the son of Raymond and Gladys (Gradert) Ronnfeldt. He attended Miles schools. Louis served in the National Guard for more than five years with six months of active duty. He married Patricia Klahn on Feb. 15, 1964, in Muscatine. He had been employed at Allied Structural Steel, Elmwood Dairy, had farmed for several years, and as an electrician until his retirement. Louis enjoyed sports, but he especially enjoyed watching his children’s and grandchildren’s athletic functions. He had been a member of the Northeast Athletic Boosters and the Eagle Club. He enjoyed playing cards and all the friendships he made while doing so.

Louis is survived by his wife Patricia; four children, L. Kenneth (Tami) Ronnfeldt of Lemont, Ill., Jennifer (David) Lange of Goose Lake, Iowa,, Julie Ronnfeldt of Clinton and Kurt (Katie) Ronnfeldt of North Liberty, Iowa; four grandchildren, Ben and Nate Lange and Kyler and Kendall Ronnfeldt; three stepgrandchildren, Charlie (Kelsey) Lange, Kenny Lange and Holly (Jay) Pickett; two stepgreat-granddaughters, Sophie Lange and Kaitlyn Pickett; a sister, Jenean Eickert of Miles, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Joyce; and a brother, Leon. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com
