Mr. Raymond C. Huseby, 82, of DeWitt, Iowa, died Sunday afternoon, December 1, 2013, in his home.

Raymond Cecil Huseby was born June 10, 1931, in Ada, Minnesota. He served in the Army from 1951 until 1953, receiving the Purple Heart. Ray graduated from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, with a teaching degree. He taught in the Osage, Iowa, School System for 26 years retiring in 1993. Ray married Colleen Falls on May 28, 1955. The couple moved to DeWitt in their retirement.

He was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in DeWitt as well as various teaching organizations, Lions Club and Legion.

Surviving are his wife, Colleen; a son, Kenneth Huseby of Superior, Wisconsin; a daughter, Lori Willey and her husband, Todd of DeWitt; two grandsons.

He was preceded in death by a son, David.

A Celebration of Life Gathering with Military Rites will be held from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. Saturday, January 11, 2014 at the First Congregational United Church of Christ DeWitt..
