Pamela Ann Pray, 56 of Clinton, IA passed away on November 22, 2013 after a brief, courageous battle with cancer. Cremation rites have been accorded. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday November 26, 2013 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM with a celebration of life at 7:00 PM at the Pape Funeral Home. Pam was born on April 14, 1957 in Des Moines, Iowa to Joseph Makarewicz and Judith Springer Coe. Pam graduated from Clear Lake High School in Clear Lake, IA and received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa. Pam had previously been married to Steve Pray and they had one daughter, Megan. Pam was employed by Parco Ltd. for 32 years, most recently as a Director of HR and Training.

Most importantly Pam led a healthy, active lifestyle. She was thrilled to be a new grandmother to her first granddaughter, Sawyer. She also enjoyed spending time with her Labrador, Harry. Pam enjoyed traveling and had the opportunity to experience many areas of the US and other areas of the world with family and friends. She also enjoyed kayaking, hiking, biking, and playing tennis. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Pam is survived by her daughter, Megan Pray (Chris Dove) and granddaughter Sawyer; mother, Judy Coe of Clinton; father, Joe Makarewicz of Kenosha, WI; brother Chuck Makarewicz of Orange, CA; brother, Brian (Heather) Coe and niece Deeja of Des Moines, IA; stepbrother, Michael (Cindy) Graham of Kenosha, WI; stepbrother Jim (Nancy) Graham of Madison, WI; stepbrother Chris (Joanne) Graham of Colorado; and companion Mike Clark of Clinton, IA. She was preceded in death by grandparents and stepmother Patricia Makarewicz. The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to the UIHC Holden Cancer Center and Genesis Hospice for their care and compassion during Pam’s illness.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the UIHC or any National Park.
