W. Dean Wallace, 81, of Clinton, died Thursday, October 24, 2013 at his home.

Funeral Services will be 10:00am, Monday, October 28, 2013 at the Community Reformed Church in Clinton. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery ? DeWitt. Serving as pallbearers will be Will McClimon, Gene Wall, Jim Jacobsen, Mike Wallace, Nick Wall, and Chet Snow. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00-7:00pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting his obituary at www.snellzornig.com

William Dean Wallace was born on July 25, 1932 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of James and Minna (Gravert) Wallace. He was a 1950 graduate of DeWitt High School. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

Dean married Shirley K. McConaughy on November 6, 1955 in Clinton; she died July 1, 2012.

Dean was a self-employed carpenter in the Clinton area for many years. He loved to build things and could build almost anything.

Dean's greatest passions were his faith, family, and friends. He was a charter member of the Community Reformed Church where he served as an elder and deacon. His most treasured times were spent with his family especially with his grandchildren and great-grandson. He enjoyed spending time outdoors especially fishing and working in his garden.

Dean is survived by two sons: Dean (Judy) Wallace of Clinton and David (Kim) Wallace of Clinton; a daughter: Amy (Mike) Loeffelholz of Walker, Iowa; 6 grandchildren and one great-grandson; his sister-in-law: Mildred Wallace of Davenport, Iowa.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and brothers and sisters.
