Mary K. Jones age 85 of Clinton passed away Saturday, June 15, 2013 at the Alverno Health Care Facility. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday June 18, 2013 at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the service hour at the funeral home. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt. Casket bearers will be her grandsons, Mark and Mike Mussmann, Josh Koontz, Jason Rohde, and great grandsons, Seth Mussmann, Nick and Zack Shepherd. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.

Mary was born in Goose Lake on June 26, 1927, the daughter of Robert R. and Cora A. (Whiles) Van Skike. Mary grew up and attended school in DeWitt. She married John W. Koontz (deceased) in 1941 in Kahoka, Missouri. She later married Duane C. Jones on May 19, 1967 in Clinton. She was a homemaker and worked at Borden Care Manor. Mary was a member of Lyons Baptist Church, a lifetime member of T.O.P.S. She enjoyed traveling with Duane and spending time with her family. She had lived in Clinton most of her life and resided at the Alverno in the Memory Unit for the last three years.

Mary is survived by her spouse, Duane C. Jones; a son, Robert (Beth) Koontz of Clinton; three daughters, Judy (Wayne) Owens of Yerington, NV, Janice (Dale) Mussmann of Clinton and Ann (Sid) (Rohde) Sybrandy of Hemet, CA; a step-daughter, Julie Jones of Chicago; ten grandchildren, Steve (Carol), Amanda, Maryjean DeWeerdt, Michael (Lisa) and Mark (Jill) Mussmann, Joshua (Sarah) and Jessica Koontz, Jason (Carrie) Rohde, Joleen (Eric) Guddat, and Zabrina (Mike) Emerson; 30 great grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Melva Van Skike. Mary is survived by many relatives in Washington, Arizona, Missouri, Ohio, Michigan, Virginia and North Carolina.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, John Koontz; an infant brother; three adult brothers, James Sr, Charles, and George Van Skike; one sister-in-law, Lois Van Skike; and an infant grandson. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.
