Kaster, Veril Delano 1932-2013

Veril Delano Kaster, 80, of Clinton, Iowa passed away peacefully on May 8th, 2013 at the Alverno. A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 11th, at 11:00 a.m. at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel (west side of Clinton Lawn Cemetery). A visitation will take place Friday, May 10th, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel. Burial will take place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.
Veril was born December 27th, 1932 in Centerville, Iowa the son of James and Iva (Foster) Kaster. He was a 1951 graduate of Moravia High School, Moravia, Iowa . Veril joined the Army serving from 1953 to 1955 in Germany.
He was united in marriage to Helen DuVall on June 15th, 1956 in Moravia, Iowa.
Veril farmed for many years in the Ottumwa, Iowa area. After moving to Clinton he worked for Dairy Pak and eventually retired as a press operator from RockTenn in 1994.
Veril loved the outdoors enjoyed fishing, golfing, camping and traveling (famously known for taking "short cuts" when traveling). He also enjoyed country dancing and above all loved to spend time with his family.
Veril is survived by his wife Helen of Clinton, Ia.; two sons- Timothy (Mary) Kaster of Clinton, Ia., Ted (Cynthia) Kaster of Clinton, Ia.; two granddaughters - Katelyn and Kimberly Kaster and one grandson - Billy Kaster.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and three brothers.
