The Clinton Herald April 15, 1922 p. 6 Asa S. Keith, formerly a resident of Clinton, died this morning at Charlotte. His body was brought to Clinton and taken to the Bragonier undertaking parlors where a private funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon. It is requested that friends omit sending flowers. The deceased was aged 77 years. He was born in Vermont but went to Minnesota in early childhood with his parents. He served as a midshipman in the United States navy for four years beginning in 1861, and thereafter was a fireman and engineer for the Northwestern railway on the Wisconsin and Madison divisions. Later he went to Missouri and Texas, but returned north and for a number of years and had a run on the Iowa division of the Northwestern railway. He retired a number of years ago and ten years ago went to Independence and later to Charlotte. Left to mourn his death are his two brothers B.S. and Charles S. Keith, both of Clinton.
The Clinton Herald April 17, 1922 p. 6 Private funeral services for Asa S. Keith were held at the funeral chapel of Howard Bragoniier Sunday afternoon and burial made in Springdale cemetery.
