Larry E. Grimes, 71, of Camanche, Iowa, died Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at the University of Iowa Hospitals, Iowa City.
His family will receive friends at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday, April 11, 2013 from 4 to 7 PM. There will be no services, cremation rites have been accorded.
Larry was born April 25, 1941 in Oelwein, Iowa the son of Elvin and Marjorie (Stahr) Grimes. He was a Clinton High School Graduate. Larry married Margaret Metzger in Clinton, Iowa.
Larry retired from International Paper after 42 years of employment. He was a member of the Low Moor Lions Club.
Survivors include his children, Randy (Laura Lee) Grimes of St. Petersburg, FL; Steven (Joanne) Grimes of Morrison, IL and Debra Grimes Corcoran of Rockford, IL; grandchildren, Justin, Charlie, Brandie and Austin Grimes and Peyton Corcoran; great-grandchildren, Trenton, Dalten, Chance and Logan Grimes; step great-grandchildren, Eric and Zack; mother, Marjorie Grimes of Clinton; brother, Dennis Grimes of LeClaire, IA and half sister, Gina Grimes.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Memorials may be made to the Low Moor Lions Club.
