Mr. David J. Jones, 88, of Lost Nation, Iowa, died Saturday morning, March 9, 2013 at Genesis Medical Center-DeWitt.

David James Jones was born October 25, 1924, in Davenport, Iowa. Following graduation from High School, he attended Saint Ambrose University. He served in the Army during World War II. David was united in marriage to Stasha Wenman in Iowa City. He worked for many years at the Rock Island Arsenal where he retired.

He was a member of the Calamus American Legion and enjoyed flying his ultra light and tinkering. David could fix anything.

Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Maynard Carlson of Moline, Illinois; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Stasha on February 15, 2007, a daughter, Laura Irwin, an infant daughter, Judith Marie, his parents and brothers and sisters.

David has donated his body to the University of Iowa. There will be no services. Interment will be held at a later date at Rock Island National Cemetery.
