Clinton, Ia. May 28 -- The body of William D Nichols of Lyons, which was found floating in the slough near here, solves a mystery of several months standing. On January 8, Nichols left the home of his son [in Upper East Clinton], to walk across the ice to Lyons. His disappearance was followed by a long search which ended yesterday. Burial services will be held in Moline.
