CLINTON — William J. Cozzolino, 95, of Clinton, Iowa, died Sunday, March 13, 2011, at Mercy North, Clinton. There will be no services or visitation; cremation will take place at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory.

William was born September 7, 1915, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Joseph and Caroline (Pasqualoni) Cozzolino. He was a Clinton High School graduate. William married Venita Matthiesen on September 30, 1939, in Wheatland, IA; she died December 20, 2002. William was a World War II United States Navy Veteran.

He had been employed at Clinton Corn Processing from 1938 to 1977 as a millwright and maintenance supervisor.

He was a member of the VFW and the Continental Country Club in Wildwood, Florida. He loved golfing, bowling, gardening, carpentry and all of his grandchildren. William had his own apple orchard and was an avid bee keeper.

Survivors include his sons, Mike (Lori Roseland) Cozzolino of Welton, IA; William (JoAnn) Cozzolino of Port Angeles, WA, and Richard Cozzolino of Lake City, FL; his daughter, Diane (James) Wolfe of Dover, PA; twelve grandchildren, many great-grandchildren; his sister, Emily Smith of Clinton; his brother, Leo (Mary Lou) Cozzolino of Clinton, a special nephew, Millard Smith of Clinton; and several other nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, William Cozzolino III, and brother, Duke Santeen Cozzolino.

Memorials may be made to the University of Iowa Children’s Burn Center or to the American Cancer Society.
