From the Mason City (Cerro Gordo, Iowa) Globe-Gazette; Thursday April 6, 1939, p. 26, col. 6:

Conduct Rites for Accident Victim of Decorah at Clinton

DECORAH - Funeral services were held at Clinton for Mrs. C. S. Lyman of Decorah, who was fatally injured Sunday in an automobile accident near Walker. Mrs. Lyman's mother, Mrs. C. S. Smith, was also injured and is in a serious condition in St. Lukes hospital in Cedar Rapids.

Mrs. Lyman is survived by her husband, two sons and three daughters, William, Robert, Mrs. Basil Carlson, Iowa City; Mary Lyman, Rock Island, Ill., and Elberta of Davenport.

The family had made its home in Decorah the past two years. Mr. Lyman in a salesman for the Interstate Power company.

A previous article in the Globe Gazette (4/3/39, p. 2, col. 4, "Mrs. Lyman of Decorah..." names Mrs. Lyman's mother as Mrs. William Smith. It also names Mrs. Basil Carlson as Alfrieda.
