Donna Jeanne Reed age 79 of Clinton passed away Friday, February 22, 2013 at Mercy Living Center North surrounded by her family. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at the Pape Funeral Home. Services will be held following the visitation at 1:00 P.M. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Casket bears will be Adam Reed, Ryan Jordan, Zachary Detterman, Corey Ramsey and David and Matthew May.

Donna was born on May 4, 1933 in Clinton the daughter of Herbert and Lydia Freyer. She graduated from Lyons High School in 1951. Donna married Edward Duane Reed on August 26, 1951 in Clinton. She was employed at Determan’s Grocery Store as a clerk and also worked as a clerk at the J.C. Penney candy counter. Donna was also a long-time employee of A.C. Nielsen Clearing House and APAC Telemarketing. She loved cooking family dinners, vegetable and flower gardening, canning and making jellies, along with camping. Most of all Donna enjoyed spending time with her family and was known for her beautiful smile.

Donna is survived by her husband of 61 years, Edward Duane Reed; three children; Suzanne (Tom) Jordan of Clinton, Brian (Barbara) Reed of DeWitt, and Tina (Jeff) Detterman of Toddville, IA; six grandchildren; Lindsey Jordan of Eldridge, IA, Ryan Jordan of Clinton, Adam Reed of Welton, IA, Emily Reed of DeWitt, and Ashley and Zachary Detterman of Toddville. She is also survived by one brother, Herbert J. Freyer, of Preston, formerly of Clinton. She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, one sister-in-law and two brothers-in-laws.
