Marvin R. Otto, age 88, of Clinton, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Mercy living Center South. In following his wishes cremation rites have been accorded. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the Pape Funeral Home. Private graveside services will follow at Springdale Cemetery.

Marvin was born in Elvira on March 9, 1924, the son of Clarence and Margaret (Hass) Otto. He married Marilyn Nielsen on November 2, 1947 at Zion Lutheran Church in Clinton. Marvin and Marilyn farmed in the Elvira, Low Moor and Delmar area until retiring and moving to Clinton in 1982. Marvin enjoyed restoring furniture and was an avid woodworker. He was a member of the Clinton County Farm Bureau, delivered Mobile Meals and enjoyed playing cards.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Marilyn; a son, Terry (Roxanne) Otto of Clinton; a daughter, Julie (Steve) Dilling of Rochelle, IL; five granddaughters, Johannah (David), Rachel (Dwayne), Jennifer (Trent), Stephanie (Bryan), and Jessica; five great grandchildren and a daughter-in-law, Kitrina.
