ALVIN B.HARKSEN

Alvin B. Harksen, 83, West Wing Place, DeWitt, a retired farmer, died Tuesday night at DeWitt Community Hospital after a one year illness.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Friday at McGinnis Funeral Home, DeWitt with the Rev. Thomas K. Spahn officiating.
Burial will be in Clinton Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will begin at 2:30 p.m. Thursday.
He was born April 24, 1889, near Low Moor, the son of Martin and Pauline Harksen. He married Sikie Andresen Oct. 15, 1913, at Goose Lake. They farmed in the Low Moor area until retiring and moving to DeWitt in 1946. He was a member of the DeWitt Loyal Order of Moose and Isaac Walton League.
He is survived by one son, Arnold, DeWitt; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers; Johannes, Clinton and Harry, Camanche.
He was preceded in death by his wife, four brothers and two sisters.
