MRS. PAULINE E. HARKSEN

Mrs. Pauline E. Harksen, 76, died Friday morning at 1:55 o'clock in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Hugh Reimer, south of Elvira, following a two-months' illness. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Elvira Church. The Rev. M.F. Hueter of Elvira will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery. Grandaughters will be flower bearers and grandsons will be pallbearers.
Mrs. Harksen was born in Schleswig, Holstein, Germany in 1855. She came to America with her husband and three children in 1882 and settled in Charlotte. In 1886 they moved to Goose Lake, and later farmed near DeWitt. Mr. Harksen died in 1908. Since that time Mrs. Harksen has lived with her daughters, Mrs. Hugh Reimer and Mrs. H. F. Petersen.
She is survived by nine children, Paul and Peter Harksen of Goose Lake, Mrs. Henry Petersen (Lena) and Mrs. Hugh Reimer (Ida), Johannes Harksen, Alvin Harksen of Low Moor; Miss Louise Harksen of Davenport; Harry Harksen and Alfred Harksen of DeWitt; twenty foyr grandchildren and three great -grandchildren.
