MRS. A. STEPHENS DIES

Services for Mrs. Augusta Stevens, 86, Wheatland, were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday t St. Paul’s United Church of Christ here. Burial was in Oakdale Cemetery, Davenport. Rev. Harold Koenig officiated.
Mrs. Stevens died Saturday, Dec. 11, 1971, at Colonial Manors Nursing Home here.
Augusta Von De Geest was born at Bettendorf, Aug. 14, 1885, the daughter of John and Catherine Schutt Von De Geest. She was married to John Stevens in Davenport. After the death of her husband, “Duddie” moved here about 50 years ago.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Guenther, Wheatland; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by 3 sister and 1 brother. Mrs. Stevens resided here with her daughter for a number of years.
Pallbearers were Lumir Voita, George Bleadorn, Emil Endorf, Larry Carson, Harold Wittrock and Donald Hamdorf.
Flowers were in charge of Mrs. Dick Spencer and Carole Hoffmann.
Elwood Fuelling was the soloist accompanied by Wilma Riedesel.
