Henrietta M. Schmidt, 94, of Clinton, passed away on, December 22, 2012 at The Alverno Health Care Facility.

Funeral Services will be 10:30am, Friday, December 28, 2012 at Zion Lutheran Church, Clinton with Rev. Jennifer Henry officiating. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be David Schmidt, Robert Schmidt, John Hart, John Coonfare, Bill Schmidt, and Dean Gruhn. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00pm to 8:00pmn at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting her obituary at www.snellzornig.com

Henrietta Marie Ketelsen was born on September 24, 1918 in Wilton Township, Iowa, the daughter of Nicholas and Augusta (Friedrichsen) Ketelsen. She married Lyle Schmidt on September 10, 1941 at Zion Lutheran Church Clinton, he died May 6, 1966.

She graduated in 1937 from Clinton High School. She was a homemaker most of her adult life. She loved and enjoyed being with her family and enjoyed being with Donald and Diane at their home getting special care when she couldn’t be alone. She enjoyed the peaceful setting at their home sitting on the deck or enclosed porch watching the eagles soaring, pelicans, ducks and geese swimming by, and the many beautiful birds and boats and fish bobbing in the river waiting to be caught. Her hobbies were reading, watching TV, especially the Chicago Bears and Cubs, golf and game shows. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and scratch off lottery tickets hoping to win the big one. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in both Clinton and Davenport.

She is survived by her son: Donald (Diane) Schmidt of LeClaire, Iowa; 3 grandchildren: David (Kathy) Schmidt of Bettendorf, John Schmidt of Moline, and Robert (Carrie) Schmidt of Davenport; 3 step grandchildren: Tammy (John) Hart of Davenport, Victoria (Scott) MacDonald, of Wilton, Maine, and John Coonfare of Andalusia, Illinois, 4 great-grandchildren: David, Brett, Lily, and Parker; 9 step great-grandchildren: Timothy, Dalton, Jessica, Kaylie, Reed, Hannah, Emma, Samual, and Aaron; and one step-great-great grandchild: Austin; sister-in-law: Pearl Ketelsen; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five brothers: Chris, Carl, Alfred, Arthur, and Peter, and five sisters: Christine, Irma, Anne, Amanda, and Sophia.

Memorials can be made to Zion Lutheran Church in Davenport or Clinton.
