A. Maxine Holstein, 96, of Camanche, IA, died Friday, December 7, 2012 at Mercy Living Center South, Clinton.
Private services will be held at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be Clinton Lawn Cemetery.
Alberta Maxine Archibald was born August 2, 1916 in Trenton, Missouri, the daughter of Gilbert and Cornelia (Thornton) Archibald. She married Arnold Holstein May 19, 1936 in Hanover, IL; he died October 23, 1993.
She was a homemaker and had also been employed at Allen’s Tea Room. Maxine was a fantastic cook, enjoyed playing cards and loved her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Sharon (Thomas) Casper of Albuquerque, NM; Judy (John) Brandenburg of Clinton, Carol (Jon) Glahn of Camanche; Debra (Joe Wendel) Holstein of Clinton, Denise (Robert) Lee of Jacksonville, FL and Terry (John) Ledek of Sandy, UT; son, Gary (Barb) Holstein of Savanna, IL; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Gerald (Ann) Archibald of Phoenix, AZ; sisters, Norma Komrofske and Mary Frances Archibald both of Clinton and her special friend and caregiver, Nancy Frondle of Camanche.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Janice Petersen.
The family requests that memorials may be made to Mercy Living Center south.
