"Carl L Ytzen, 54, formerly of Clinton, died Monday night at his home in Quincy, Ill., following a heart attack.
The body will be returned to the Snell Funeral Home here, where friends may call after 8 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services there are planned for 1:30 p.m. Friday with the Rev. R. H. Schroedel of the Salem Evangelical Reformed Church officiating. Burial wll be in Springdale Cemetery.
Carl Ludwig Ytzen, son of Christ and Maren Christiansen Ytzen, was born May 21, 1900, in Clinton. He attended local schools and married Gladys Durkee, Nov. 27, 1929. He had made his home in Quincy since the couple moved there in 1932.
Mr. Yatzen [spelling as in article] was employed as a salesman for the Krey Packing Co. of St. Louis, Mo. At the time of his death he was serving on the council of the Salem Evangelical Reformed church, of which he was a member. He was also affiliated with Quincy Masonic lodge No. 296, Quincy Consistory and the Shrine temple of Peoria, Ill.
Surviving are his wife; mother, Mrs. Maren Ytzen, Clinton; three brother, Chris of Clinton, Julius of Columbia, Tenn., and Harold of Jackson, S. C.; three sisters, Mrs. Robert (Christine) Brown, Clinton, and Mrs. Maude Hansen and MRs. Arthur (Catherine) Humburg, both of Clear Lake, and several nieces and nephews. His father died in 1940."
