The Clinton Herald Monday August 27, 1951 p 11 Leo H. Bather, 638 Twelfth avenue, South, well known Clinton florist for many years, died early Sunday morning in Jane Lamb hospital, where he had been a patient for five weeks. The body was taken to the Bragonier-Fay chapel where friends may call. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home, with Dr. Bruce McCullough officiating. Burial will be in Springdale cemetery. Mr. Bather was born Feb. 19, 1875, in Clinton, son of the late Andrew and Charlotte Beaumont Bather. He was educated in the Clinton schools, and was active until the time of his illness in the floral business established by his father. He was married June 17, 1903, to Josephine Otto in Clinton. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church and was an elder of the church. He was also a member of Emulation lodge, 255, DeMolay consistory, Order of Eastern Star, 65, and White Shrine of Jerusalem. Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Ewart (Jeanette) Potter; three grandchildren; a sister, Miss Edith Bather; a brother, Ralph, all of Clinton; and three nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Geraldine, two sisters, and a brother.
