LEONARD N. HOWLAND

Friends may call after 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Shadduck-Cannon funeral home for Leonard N. Howland, 79, of Fort Bragg, Calif., formerly of Clinton, who died Friday in the VA Hospital in Martinez, Calif. Burial will be in Springdale cemetery. Mr. Howland was born Sept 2, 1890 At Belle Plaine, the son of George and Pauline Rossway Howland. He attended Clinton schools and was a veteran of World War I. He retired in 1956 from Clinton Corn Processing Co., where he was a blacksmith. He never married. Survivors include a brother, Brainard of Ft. Bragg, Calif; a sister, Mrs. Verona Wilhelm of Menlo Park, Calif; and several nieces. He was preceded in death by three brother and a sister. Mon. 24 Nov. 1969, pg 8
