BIGFORK, Mont. — Dorothy “Dode” Sivright, age 90, died Tuesday, August 2, 2011, at her home in Bigfork, Montana.

A memorial service was held on August 6 at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home in Lasipell, Montana.

Dode was born January 23, 1921, to Edward and Edith Manuel in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. The family moved to George, Iowa, where she lived until she graduated from Coe College with an English major. In high school, she was an All-State basketball player and in college, she was captain of the rifle team. After graduation from college, she taught school in Iowa City, Iowa, and married Dr. Donald F. Mirick. They settled in Clinton, Iowa. Dr. Mirick died in an automobile accident in 1968.

In 1970, Dode married David H. Sivright Sr., in Aspen, Colorado. They moved from Clinton to Glenwood Springs, Colorado, in 1974, where they owned and operated Coors Western Slope, Inc. In 1986, they moved to Indian Wells, California. They later purchased a home in Bigfork, Montana, and would spend their summers there. They became full-time residents of Bigfork in 2008.

Dode stayed active by playing golf, tennis, bridge, snow and water skiing, hunting and fishing. She was a lifetime member of PEO, and was a generous contributor to numerous charities. She will be remembered for her love of family, her unique gift for being a gracious host and her moral fabric.

She is survived by her husband, David, six children, thirteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
