Terry L. Cary Sr., 64, of Princeton died July 4, 2011 at Genesis Medical Center East after fighting a brave and courageous battle with cancer over the past few years. Cremation rites have been accorded at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Terry Lee Cary was born on December 18, 1946 in Rockford, IL, the son of Homer and Ellen (Broaddus) Cary. He married Judy Bentley on October 7, 1969 in Anaheim, CA.

He was a United States Navy veteran serving two tours during the Vietnam War. He was awarded numerous medals including a Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Vietnam Service Medal with two bronze stars and a Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with device.

Terry was employed as a welder at the Rock Island Arsenal for the last 18 years until retiring. He was previously employed as an electrician welder with Bectel in Arizona.

He was a member of Princeton Presbyterian Church where he was an Elder and a Deacon.

He loved to ride his motorcycle, was a great artist and an especially loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife Judy of Princeton; one daughter: Michelle (Richard) Reding Jr. of Princeton; one son: Terry (Jenny) Cary Jr. of Princeton; two grandchildren: Abbigail and Justin Cary, and four sisters: Sharon (Frank) Appodaca of Paulden, AZ, Nancy Hamilton of Phoenix, AZ, Randie (James) Mitchell of Kennewick, WA and Tressie (Kirby) Matthews of Kennewick, WA.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Barbara.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.
