Billie J. Bromley (Behrends), 97, of Clinton, died Saturday, July 2, 2011 at the Harmony House, Clinton.

Funeral Services will be 11:00am, Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church with Pastor Dennis Glew officiating. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Visitation will be from 9:00am to the service time at the church. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Wilhelmina Jane Michaelsen was born on June 27, 1914 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Jens and Mina Belle (Corbett) Michaelsen. She married Glenn Bromley on December 1, 1940 in Clinton; he died October 5, 1982. She later married Herman Behrends on February 14, 1995 he later died.

She was a 1932 graduate of Clinton High School. She was the head cook at Washington Junior High School for several years.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Clinton, and the Clinton Order of Eastern Star #65.

She is survived by her son: Stephen (Nancy) Bromley of Clinton; her daughter-in-law: Barb Bromley of Camanche; 6 grandchildren: Lee (Jeni) Bromley of Clinton, Pam (Joe) Murray of Bettendorf, Karen (Scott) Sharp of Camanche, Lori Bromley of Evansville, Indiana, Matt (Kathy) Bromley of Camanche, and Chris (Staci) Bromley of Sidney, Illinois; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by both husbands, her parents, one son: Michael, and 2 grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the First United Methodist Church, Clinton.
