Lois Mary (Mrs. Leonard) Dunlavey, 80, DeWitt, Iowa, died Tuesday afternoon, July 12, 2011 at Genesis Medical Center-DeWitt.

She was born Lois Ellen Galloway December 22, 1930 at Maquoketa, Iowa, to Edwin and Ruth (Bentley) Galloway. Lois graduated from Welton High School in 1948. On April 20, 1950, Lois was united in marriage to Leonard Dunlavey at St. Ann Catholic Church, Welton. The couple farmed at Welton until retiring to DeWitt.

Lois was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt. Her favorite pastime was collecting Hummels and she enjoyed gardening and cooking.

Surviving are her husband, Leonard; children and their spouses, Teresa and Michael Bonertz of Menasha, Wisconsin, Pat and Rita Dunlavey of Charlotte, Iowa, and Mike and Chris Dunlavey of Lost Nation, Iowa; eleven grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Dale Ruggeberg.

Preceding Lois in death were an infant son, Thomas Joseph, her parents and a sister, Doris Ruggeberg.

The family will receive friends at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2011 with a Rosary at 2:30 p.m. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, July 16, 2011 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt, with the Rev. Father Paul Connolly and Deacon Mike Sheil presiding. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.
